1 AP: Movement
Your Movement Rate indicates how many squares you can move per AP. For example, if you use 3 AP for movement, you can move squares up to 3 times your Movement Rate. Diagonal movement is not allowed and movement must be completed in its entirety, except for opening and closing doors, and jumping. Movement while within melee range (mostly 1 sq) of an enemy, allows them to make an Attack of Opportunity against you.
Movement can be affected, among other things, by the following factors:
- Difficult Terrain costs 2 sq of movement to advance 1 sq.
- Swimming and Climbing costs 2 sq of movement to advance 1 sq if the character does not have a specific movement rate for it.
- Obstacles like other characters require a Body DEX - Check to move through.
- Carrying too much weight halves a characters movement rate.
Movement can't be reduced to lower than 1 sq per AP, unless it is specifically stated in a skills description.
